we are 6 days in to the Wv trapping season and it's been slow. Worm temps have not got the predators up and moving good yet. So far this week we have pulled 10 coon, 4 possums, 1 beaver & 1 Skunk. I had a bobcat work a cubby set and never stepped on the pan on Tuesday. Wensday I had a coyote or a fox work a set and stepped every where but the pan and also had a deer pop off a Fox set. But as far as the coons go the feeders we have been running are doin great. All the coon but 2 have been caught around the feeders. And they all for the most part have been good size coons. For Southern Wv a 13 to 16 pound good is about avg. and anything over the 18 pounds and up are getting in to the studs. The biggest for this season I thank is around 17 pounds. On the beaver side of things we have only picked up one so my opening week beaver catch is way down. Out water level is way low for this time of year and that is not helping the catch numbers there. I am not finding a lot of sign either. I thank with the worm times the the water plants have not died off yet and they are not having to get on the banks as much yet to find food. Maybe they will start working land a little more the end of this month and we can start picking them up. And I am working on my next video to add to the YouTube channel. I am starting them with the title Trapping Southern West Virginia Season 3 episode 1 and so on from here out. Instead of just giving each one a different title each video.
I hope ole everyone is having a great season and be save out there on the line.
Here re is a few pics from this week.
The hole blog thing is new to me and I am sure no one cares about what is goin on with my line but if anyone reads my blog leave a comment and let me know. If y'all do like it I will try and keep them goin. Don't thank I can have the time to do them every day but may try one a week or maybe 2 if I have the time.
